New Bites at Sunnies Café
Sunnies Café has been known to be one of the best places for Instagram-worthy snapshots. But more than those pastel colored pictures, its bang for the buck dishes will tickle you pink. And same is true for its new dishes.
Hello, Sunnies Café.
I still remember the first time I visited Sunnies Café. It was during its opening day and the famous gals behind the successful brand Sunnies were there too for a shoot. Fast forward to two years later, Sunnies Café still remains as one of the favorite spots of millennials (and surprisingly titas of Manila as well).

First Sip: Cocoa Boulevard
With Mother Nature in its moodiest state, I prefer to stay in and enjoy watching the rain as I sip a hot cup of coffee or chocolate. And speaking of chocolate, I discovered a new alternative to my instant mix.
Hello, Cocoa Boulevard.
I got a random message from Cocoa Boulevard a few months back asking if I would be interested to try its hot chocolate stirrers. Intrigued by the concept, I quickly said yes. I was then asked to wait for a few weeks as they make their hot chocolate stirrers from scratch.

First Bite: Doux PH
With Christmas fast approaching, we get busier than ever finding the perfect gifts for our family and friends. I've been through a lot of holiday shopping mayhem to remember and there is only one thing I got from it-- plan ahead or suffer. And after years of practice, I'm proud to say that I managed to cross out my entire list after a short call. How do I do it? By having a trusty supplier to provide me with delectable treats to give out to everyone. But one new baker I discovered is making me think if I should order more (for myself).

LeTAO Holiday Treats
LeTAO is one of the most talked about brands last year when it opened its first pop-up store in Uptown Bonifacio. Focusing on one product, Fromage Double Cheesecake, it successfully captured the local market's attention. Teased with gorgeous photos followed by mouthwatering write ups, foodies around the metro got curious. However, many took a step back after finding that one 6" cake costs PHP1,150. Fast forward to December 2017, LeTAO Philippines now offers more of the well-loved Japanese brand and it came just in time for Christmas.
Hello, LeTAO.
I was first acquainted with LeTAO during my trip to Taiwan. I got its famous Fromage Double Cheesecake at almost the same price in Manila.

Molito Food Stop: Le Petit Cheri
There are so many new restaurants here,
there and just about everywhere! I went crazy when I spotted Molito, the new
foodie haven in the south. I saw several new establishments I have never seen
before and I am so excited to visit those places soon. Earlier, I posted about Ramen
Yushoken. The place offer really flavorful ramen. Since we still had had 30
minutes to explore Molito
before going home, my sister and I dashed to Le Petit Cheri.
Hello, Le Petit Cheri.
It had an
eerie ambiance as we were the only ones there when we visited. And it didn’t seem
to be a good sign. But it was recommended by a few friends so I had faith in
this establishment.
Since we
were not in the mood for anything savory, we went straight to desserts and
stared at the display cooler. I got the White
Chocolate Cheesecake (PHP148), Baked
Polvoron (PHP78) and several macarons: Caramel,
Salted Coffee, Purple Yam, Red Velvet, and Strawberry (PHP38 each).
I ordered
the baked polvoron since it intrigued me. I love polvoron
but I never really had a chance to try a baked version of it. The texture was
similar to a rather hard cookie and it wasn’t as sweet as the well-loved
Goldilocks polvoron. Actually, it tasted just like a slightly bland cookie.
I ordered
the White
Chocolate Cheesecake
since it was the most photogenic among the cakes available then. It was very
dense and thick and it didn’t have the tart that I like from cheesecakes.
It also made me remember why I don’t like white chocolate. In short, I will not
order this again… ever. But white chocolate lovers might enjoy this.

Promo Alert: Churros All You Can at Boqueria
I love churros. I remember that it is one of my must have dishes whenever I visit Dulcinea. The rich chocolate and the crunchy churros are just perfect as an afternoon snack (or dessert). I even went gaga when they had a kiosk at the ground floor of SM Megamall where they focused on eclairs, cream puffs and churros. However, Boqueria, a new player in the market, captured the churros loving crowd with its decadent hot chocolate and churros and now, they are offering something foodies would absolutely love...
Unlimited churros? Why not?
Yes, you read it right! Boqueria is offering CHURROS ALL YOU CAN!
But of course, there's a catch. It is only available from Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. So if you work near SM Megamall and you have a flexible lunch break, then lucky you! Promo runs until September 15, 2014. So schedule it now!
I do hope that they consider having this as a weekend promo. (And an option to have plain churros. Sugar coated churros dipped in their rich chocolate is just too much for me.)
Boqueria is located at 3rd Floor, SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Mandaluyong City.

Love At First Bite: The Tuileries Confections
Macarons. This has been one of the biggest food craze last year and it seems like it's here to stay for a bit longer. I must say, I am one of the crazy foodies to shell out money for these small (but yummy) desserts. If you think about it, these are very expensive. But if you crave for something beyond your typical chocolate bar or ice cream, this is a good choice.
I have been a big fan of S's baking and when she flew to Paris to further enhance her skills, I just want her to finish her studies ASAP just so I could have more of her delectable brownies. But I guess I have to wait.
She didn't disappoint us though as a few weeks after she came back, she started her business The Tuileries Confections.
It was her post for Valentine's Day that convinced me to to order a box of macarons.

Too Cute To Eat
Ever experienced buying something you really like but hesitate to use it because it was screaming CUTE?
Last Friday, I was greeted by a cute bento box from Pink Wasabi. I was so excited to try them all. I got intrigued that there were extra Midnight Mint kashi maki so I assumed that this is one of their best sellers and tried it right away.
Oh bliss~
To be honest, I am not really fond of mint chocolates as I find it weird. I tried several before and it tasted like toothpaste with a hint of chocolate. BUT this one was different. The fluffy chiffon cake (which was so delightful) was dusted with cocoa powder and the inside was stuffed with chocolate goodness and dark mint truffles. To finish the “maki” look, it was topped with a mint roe.

What I loved about this one was that the mint taste was not overpowering. It definitely did not taste like toothpaste. It was a very refreshing dessert that I wouldn’t mind eating every after meal.

The next one I tried was the Oolong Berry kashi maki.
