Celebrating New Chapters at Pages Deli

I used to ignore this place till I started to read good reviews about it. I wanted to try it myself but I don’t like eating alone in nice restaurants. Then a friend wanted to have dinner to celebrate her birthday. Perfect!
“Let’s meet at Shangri-la!”

“Sure! But where? (Thinking it has to be somewhere new or at least a place we have never been to before) Uhm, how about Pages Deli? Or Lemon Grass?”

“Pages Deli. See you there!”

That was how my friend and I decided to have dinner at Pages Deli.

Too Cute To Eat

Ever experienced buying something you really like but hesitate to use it because it was screaming CUTE?
Last Friday, I was greeted by a cute bento box from Pink Wasabi. I was so excited to try them all. I got intrigued that there were extra Midnight Mint kashi maki so I assumed that this is one of their best sellers and tried it right away.
Oh bliss~
To be honest, I am not really fond of mint chocolates as I find it weird. I tried several before and it tasted like toothpaste with a hint of chocolate. BUT this one was different. The fluffy chiffon cake (which was so delightful) was dusted with cocoa powder and the inside was stuffed with chocolate goodness and dark mint truffles. To finish the “maki” look, it was topped with a mint roe.
Midnight Mint
What I loved about this one was that the mint taste was not overpowering. It definitely did not taste like toothpaste. It was a very refreshing dessert that I wouldn’t mind eating every after meal.
Oolong Berry
The next one I tried was the Oolong Berry kashi maki.

Drink discovery: Dark Belgian Chocolate

As part of our not-yet-payday-lunch out, we went to Blenz as some of us were craving for the store’s drinks and pastries.

Two of them suggested that we try the Iced Belgian Chocolate. The name itself was very convincing. (How I regretted drinking that syrup drink from the restaurant across the café.)

I ordered regular sized Iced Dark Belgian Chocolate with whipped cream (PHP145). I got so excited when the barista handed the drink to me. I don’t know how I calmly took pictures of it without tasting it first.
Dark... Belgian... Chocolate... LOVE.
Finally, after taking a few snapshots of the drink, I took a sip… chocolate heaven. It was dark (yahoo!) unlike the drinks from other cafés also called dark chocolate but were EXTREMELY sweet. The whipped cream though made me return to Earth as it doesn’t taste that good. Just like how my colleague described it, “It tasted like marshmallows!”
Cute! :)
The others ordered milk chocolate. Maybe I should try that next time but I will most likely ask them to hold the whipped cream.

Blenz is located at the Level 2, Mega Atrium, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
