Ramen never fails to brighten up the gloomiest day. Just thinking about slurping tonkotsu broth and munching on thin noodles topped with chasiu is enough to motivate me to get out of bed and head to the nearest ramen joint. And last weekend was the perfect day to check out the newest ramen shop in town--Hakata Ton-ichi.
Hello, Hakata Ton-ichi.
Bright and fresh out of a manga book, this is what I felt when I stepped inside Hakata Ton-ichi. Neon signs, wooden furniture and colorful graphics ornate this ramen shop's massive space at SM North Edsa's newest wing.

First Sip: Presotea
I'm starting to believe that milk tea runs through my veins with the amount of naicha I drink each week! And I'm so happy that one of the new names in the boba market opened a branch more accessible to me!
Hello, Presotea.
Presotea is one of the popular milk tea joints in Taiwan with a shop in almost every corner. Its innovative way of preparing tea based drinks set it apart from its competitors and it wasn't long for other countries like China, Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Canada and the Philippines to take notice of its fragrant and flavorful drinks. Fast forward to present, Presotea now has four branches in Manila with its newest store in SM North Edsa.

Pound is now open at SM North Edsa
Pound by Todd English is one of my favorite joints to grab burgers and fries. Not only does it offer thick, juicy and flavorful burgers, its set menu are definitely bang for the buck! Where else can you grab a gourmet level burger with fries and drink for under PHP300?
Hello, Pound!
Pound opens another shop in the North and this time, it's just a few blocks away from its Ayala Malls Vertis North branch. Located at the busy SM North Main Building, Pound is definitely easy to spot.

First Sip: Nord's Bread Hub
Walking around any SM mall could be a dizzying experience. With each SM branch never seem to be running out of shoppers, I always find myself searching for a coffee shop to take a break. And one Wednesday, I found a great spot.
Hello, Nord's Bread Hub.
This bread shop has been around for quite some time in SM North Edsa. I've always been curious with its offerings and how it compares with other establishments like Bread Talk and Kumori. However, I'm always full whenever I pass by and don't find motivation to buy a bread or two just to try it out. One afternoon though, I was looking for a place to grab a quick drink and figured to check out Nord's Bread Hub's Iced Green Tea Latte (PHP165).

Northern Chronicles: Hawker Chan SM North Edsa is now open
Hawker Chan has been one of the most anticipated brand openings this year. It has received so much love since it opened its first store in SM Mall of Asia. Its winning and unbeatable bang for the buck Soya Chicken and the lovable Chef Chan Hong Meng have been just two of the main reasons why Hawker Chan became an instant hit with us. And for those from the North dreading to fight the Manila traffic just to get a bite of Hawker Chan's succulent chicken, this is for you... Hawker Chan is now open at SM North Edsa!
Hello again, Hawker Chan!
Hawker Chan finally opened its second branch at SM North Edsa Main Mall last November 29, 2018.

First Bite: Fat Fook
I've always been so curious about Fat Fook ever since I saw several posts of its famous chicken chops online. It made me wonder if it would be a lot better than the other brands that claim to offer the number 1 Taiwanese chicken chops. However, its location wasn't exactly a "couple of blocks away" from where I live so it took me several months before I got to visit it. And I finally did last December when I was out panicking on what gifts to buy.
