I adore establishments that have stories to tell. I love learning about the inspiration behind each brand. And sometimes, knowing the hard work placed on each dish makes the food extra delicious. Such was the case with Mama V Delicious.
Hello, Mama V Delicious!
Mama V Delicious started as a restaurant along Leon Guinto Street, corner Estrada, Malate. Managed by mother and daughter tandem Mama V and Tina V, the quickly became a hit among the students of St. Scholastica, De La Salle University, College of St. Benilde, and the like.

ECQ Favorite: Lydia's Lechon
Two months passed since the start of Manila's lockdown. But I don't miss dining out at all as most of my favorites are just a call or a few clicks away. One thing I didn't expect to munch on during ECQ is the roast pig from the Pinoy favorite, Lydia's Lechon.
Hello, Lydia's Lechon.
Lydia's Lechon launched Lechon in a Box a few months ago which was an instant hit. And to make things more interesting (and yummier), Lydia's came up with something to delight us during the ECQ-- Family Boxes.

First Bite: VBQ Vietnamese Barbeque & Hotpot
Korean barbecue is one of the hottest food trends these past few years. We’ve seen so many shops open here and there. I had no idea though that Vietnam also has something similar to this till I visited VBQ.
Hello, VBQ Vietnamese Barbeque & Hotpot.

First Bite: Friends & Family
Today's food scene has never been this dynamic. There are so many new and innovative concepts that would intrigue anyone. But one thing that trumps all trends and gimmicks is familiarity. And that is what Friends & Family focused on.
Hello, Friends & Family.
Friends and Family made its mark in the foodie community with its nostalgic take on several Filipino dishes such as Birthday Spaghetti and. It grew even more popular when The Raintree Group's Executive Chef Kalel Chan came up with Ube Champorado. And when it launched a very tempting Buy One Get One deal on two of its comforting dishes perfect for this rainy weather, I've decided that it's time to stop delaying my visit.

Restaurant Love: Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que
Ribs… what’s not to
love? Soft meat, lovely sauce, dirty fingers… bliss. And where can we try out
one of the best tasting ribs? Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que!
It was a tiring day as we just flew back to California from New York and it was one gloomy Thursday. N and I were quite hungry and decided to have lunch out. Since I haven’t visited Lucille’s yet and N was craving for meat, we drove to the popular ribs place.
Hello, Lucille’s!
It has this diner feel and it is pretty charming!
We decided to go for a BBQ Lunch Platter with a combination of St. Louis spare ribs, tri tip, one quarter smoked chicken ($15.99) and ordered a salad and mashed potatoes on the side. N also ordered the Lucille’s BBQ Tri Tip Sandwich ($13.49).

While waiting, we were given complimentary bread which I recall
Frannywanny raving about. It was sweet bread to my surprise. I was expecting
the typical bland bread with butter so this was a pleasant surprise. I guess it
is to prepare the taste buds to the savory ribs.
The salad was your typical greens so let me focus more on
the “meat”.
