Sale Alert: H&M Anniversary Month-Long Sale

Remember when there was a big crowd in front of SM Megamalllast October 17? Yes, it was a year ago when traffic madness happened because of the opening of H&M Philippines.

Forgot why there was a long line just to shop? Well, H&M was giving away several gift certificates for the first 100 or 200 customers and a lot were hopeful to get one. (Though others say that those people who lined up were paid to create buzz about the opening of the awaited retail fashion brand. But that's another story.)
To celebrate its first anniversary in the Philippines, H&M is treating its customers with a MONTH-LONG sale. Yes, a sale during the whole month of October! Shop and buy several OOTD at 50% off.

See you there!

H&M branches are in SM Mega Fashion Hall, SM Makati, SM City North EDSA, SM Fairview and Robinsons Manila.

Promo Alert: 50% off On Your Next 7 Uber Rides

Gone are the days of Friday Traffic Mayhem as it is now happening daily. It’s getting worse and worse. And when you finally reach your destination… SURPRISE, party in the parking lot! But I am so thankful for cab apps like Uber and GrabTaxi for making it more bearable living in the city.
Lately, I noticed that Uber’s fare is cheaper than GrabTaxi’s (or even a normal cab’s). And to make things even better, I got an email from Uber that they are slashing 50% off my next 7 rides until July 26! Yes, SEVEN rides!
I was thrilled and the first thing that came to mind was, “Where should I go?”
But nope… too busy. Then again, it did help me save the company some money when I went out for a meeting.

My fares from Taguig to Makait and back were just PHP55 and PHP51 versus the usual PHP120! Oh yeaaaaah!
I also went to SM Aura to buy some bed sheets (duvet covers are 50% at Living Well!) and with surcharge, I just paid PHP50.

At first, I thought that all Uber users get the same deal but M just got 20% off and K doesn’t even have any discount. So you better check your email first before booking.

P.S. You might also want to try GrabCar. You get PHP100 off your fare when you use the promo code umbrella.

Promo Alert: Dine at HEAT Restaurant at 50% off!

My friends know that I have this thing for buffets. I just can't resist it. I remember as well that my first date with N was also in an eat-all-you-can restaurant (and found out later on that it's a no-no for first dates. I guess it doesn't give that romantic ambiance given that you're surrounded with people with mountains of food on their plates).

But since I am stingy, I do not go to the hotels for buffets. I'm satisfied with a PHP299 deal from Don Day or Sambo Kojin or even Yakimix (for unlimited salmon).

Then one lucky day, I saw a photo on my news feed. Overheated? Oh shoot! HEAT! Edsa Shangri-La's HEAT is having a summer buffet promo!
The price is so tempting as for only PHP715++ (for lunch Mondays to Saturdays for the whole month of April), you get to eat awesome food! The catch though is that you need to bring along with you a company of 4 or more to avail the promo. Still, it's not a bad deal at all!

I'm booking a reservation soon to celebrate someone's birthday. Book now too! :)

For reservations, contact 633-8888 ext. 2777. Note that prior reservation is needed.

HEAT is located at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel,1 Garden Way, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.

Expired Products for Sale?!?

We love Japanese food and we looooove Japanese products thus when I saw Choco Crisps in a Japanese restaurant/store, I was thrilled. Well, to make the story short, I didn’t buy it because I find it overpriced at P245. Is it because it is in Powerplant? (Clue!!!)
Anyway, I decided to check the other products hoping for it to be “reasonably” priced. I was about to jump for joy when I saw Nissin Cup Noodles (the original one in Styrofoam containers) priced at P66. It is P95 in supermarkets and P92 in S&R so I thought that it was a pretty good deal.
But before buying food products, I often check the expiry date just to be sure and to my surprise, the cup noodles were already expired. Below was the flow of my conversation with the sales person in charge:
Me: Hey, the cup noodles are already expired!
Sales lady: That’s why it’s on sale.
Me: Don’t you think this is actually dangerous??? (Not to mention illegal?)
Sales lady: We checked with the manufacturer and they said that it’s still okay for consumption.
My question now is, what is the purpose of “BEST BEFORE DATE” then if it is actually flexible? I know that there is a rule that stores need to pull out near expiry products days before it actually expire because some consumers still do not have the habit of reading the expiry date. THERE IS THE POTENTIAL RISK OF FOOD POISONING. I do not find this okay at all. To my disappointment, I wasn’t even able to take a picture as “evidence”. I really loved the restaurant and now, I am not so sure if I want to go back. Since they openly sell EXPIRED products, there is a possibility that they use expired ingredients in the kitchen since “it’s okay”.
Friends, please make sure that you read the expiry date before purchasing. Yes, there are some very enticing deals here and there but also remember that there could be a “catch” on why it is being offered as such.
