It has been several months since Wildflour's new concept Little Flour opened. I've been planning to visit and check out how different it is from the well-loved brunch place but my schedule never cooperated for a short brunch. Luckily, R's friends decided to have dinner there one time to welcome back two balikbayan friends. And it was my chance to sink my teeth into its famous young coconut pie.
Hello, Little Flour.
Little Flour has similar ambiance as Wildflour with its predominantly brown interiors and pastry display.

Brunch for Three: Wildflour
I think most of us are guilty for ordering the more photogenic dish over the tastier one. More often than not, I find myself asking the server if the dish I’d like to order is pretty or Instagram-worthy and hesitate when I get no for an answer. But there’s a restaurant with a menu packed with tasty AND photogenic dishes. Yes, I’m talking about Wildflour.
Hello, Wildflour.
I’ve never seen Wildflour empty and it proves that this restaurant is not just a craze or have lost its charm after the market became less interested in Cronuts.

First Bite: Pink's Hot Dog Manila
I have been counting the days, weeks and months since I heard the news that the legendary Pink's Hot Dog is coming to Manila. I was ecstatic as I know that Pink's has never branched out outside (sounds redundant) Los Angeles. The well-loved hot dog joint has been patronized by foodies and celebrities alike. Heck, even Brad Pitt and Betty White love Pink's! Just knowing I ate the same dish as these A-listers make me feel like a celebrity. Forget the dirty tables and the long wait outside despite 3 degrees temperature. All for the love of hot dogs.
And so when I found out that Pink's was opening on June 8, I planned out my schedule. I even bugged R's friend K to confirm the date and she said that it was indeed opening on Wednesday. There were also online news outlets claiming the same thing. It was just bizarre though that Pink's Hot Dog Manila's social media pages were not announcing any. I had to confirm as I do not want to waste my energy walking for 20 minutes to be greeted by a closed sign. I decided to message Pink's via its Facebook page. Seenzoned.
Assertive and with burning desire to know the truth about Pink's opening date, I messaged one of the owners via Instagram. No reply.
What annoys me is that despite the terrible online customer service, I would still go because it's new and I'm curious. There are times I hate the food blogger in me!
Finally, it was confirmed that they will open on June 10, Friday. At 5 p.m..
I scheduled to go on Saturday (as I had to be in Quezon City during its opening day) but R got sick so I opted not to go. (It was also because I found out that the line was long and people had to wait for an HOUR to get their hot dogs. I refuse to wait that long.)
And so I went a few hours ago after work. HELLO PINK'S HOT DOG!!!
Guess what? There was no line. We managed to order right away and got a table. We ordered The Hollywood Legend (PHP280) and East LA Street Dog (PHP280). Drinks are steep so we just shared one Berry Yuzu (PHP160).

Restaurant Love Revisited: Wildflour
There are so many new restaurants in Bonifacio Global City and I always get overwhelmed when someone asks me where to eat. With hundreds of options, how can I choose just one? A few weekends ago, I met up with some of R’s friends from his Shanghai group and since we were running late, his friends made the decision to have dinner at Wildflour.
Hello, Wildflour.
This restaurant never lost its charm. The place was packed on a Saturday night and shortage of parking space did not seem to bother the diners (unless they live around the area).
Since R and I were quite famished, we quickly ordered Kimchi Fried Rice (PHP495) and Mac n' Cheese (PHP310). R also ordered one Baked Escargot (PHP75).
While waiting for our orders, we munched on the complimentary bread and chitchatted with R’s friends who were exhausted from braving the sun to walk around Fort Santiago.
After a couple of minutes, our Mac n' Cheese arrived.
R found the baked pasta a bit bland so I asked for parmesan cheese. But apparently, there is an extra charge for it. (WHAT THE?!)

Finally... Wildflour Café + Bakery
[Continuation
of Black Saturday food trip] We were already starting to get full when we were
on our way to our last stop. I persuaded the group that we walk (since I love
talking walks, yes, even here in Manila) to the last stop. But the heat made A
want to take a cab and M and T agreed. It was 1:3 so we took a cab in the end.
Hello, Wildflour Café + Bakery!
As a foodie, I feel slightly
embarrassed to say that this is my first trip to the croughnut paradise spot, Wildflour.
Every time I plan to visit this place, it gets cancelled. But last Black Friday
was not one of those days. I finally made it!
Since we were still pretty full, T and
M decided to go for just desserts and drinks. However, A and I decided to order
pasta with our cakes and drinks. T and M shared a slice of Salted Chocolate
Cake (PHP195), A went for the Peanut Butter Banana Cream Pie (PHP190) and Mac
n’ Cheese (PHP280) while I went for the Cheesecake Flan (PHP195), a cup of iced
Hazelnut Chocolate (PHP160) and Rustichella Squid Ink Spaghetti (PHP450). Yes,
A and I were full too. (But we managed to find a bit of space somewhere.)
While waiting, a complimentary plate of
bread with salted butter was served. I love that it was served warm and it sure
made me forget that I was full. Munching on the fragrant bread with butter
topped with rock salt was delish!
Soon, our orders arrived.
