Summer may be ending soon with those sudden rain showers and gloomy skies but its festive vibe is here to stay especially with Greenwich's mouthwatering Hawaiian Overload within reach.
Hello, Greenwich.
I was invited to the fun-filled Hawaiian themed Greenwich birthday bash for BFFs Yassi Pressman and Bela Padilla last week.

First Sip: Sap Juicery
I have been pigging out like crazy for the past weeks and not working out helps keep the fats stored in undesirable places. And now that I now work closer to several malls, it'll be even harder not to eat out. Thanks to some stores that specialize in healthy and detox treats, I might be able to avoid a few pounds. *crosses fingers*
I have read about Sap these past months and it caught my interest as I have a thing for juices. (R makes fun of it though as he could not understand why I spend so much when I could just buy a fresh fruit and eat it as is.) I actually saw the Sap kiosk at SM Aura last year when I tried Yakitori One but I was in a hurry because I wasn't feeling well then. But I couldn't let it pass twice so when I had lunch at the kinda pricey food court, I got myself a bottle.
The server suggested that I get G1 (PHP185) which is a combination of pineapple, apple, kale, cucumber, spinach and organic cane. Since I'm a Sap newbie, I gave in.
After paying and getting my bottle, I noticed that there are cheaper drinks such as the organic cane and smoothies! Price difference was around PHP25-65! Some are even less than half the price of what I got. It made me feel a bit of regret not seeing it (and my wallet uttered "ouchie") but I just hoped that it tastes good and worth the price I paid.
Good news, it's actually a good drink. It was sweet and went well with my meal. Bad news, it was a bit too sweet (and it made me wonder if I'm really drinking something healthy). It is not an ideal drink when having desserts.
Overall, it was still an a-okay beverage. I'll probably try the other more affordable drinks next time.

First Bite: Teddy’s
Once upon a time, a
genius discovered another way to enjoy beef. He turned it into beef balls and
flattened it. Then he placed it in between two pieces of bread and added a few
vegetables for crunch and that creation is one of the reasons why most of my
posts have #dietsomeothertime and #fatkidoutside. *sigh*
Hello, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers!
I recall that the
first time I saw this joint was almost a year ago. The line was crazy and it
discouraged me to try it out. I was not willing to wait for over an hour under
the summer heat. But thankfully, they opened a branch in Shangri-la
a few months ago and I got my chance to try their famous burgers.
I went with Teddy’s
bestseller, Kailua burger
(PHP347, big) while my mom got the Hawaiian
Style (PHP287) and my sister ordered the Bacon
Me Crazy (PHP268, ¼ lb.). We also ordered shoestring fries
(PHP88) as a side dish.
While waiting, my mom
got a complimentary
dessert
in celebration of Mother’s
Day.

Aloha from Technohub???
It was one rainy day when we decided to have a picnic. No, we did not plan the picnic because it was raining. The image we had in mind was one sunny or at least cloudy day where we get to share homemade meals (okay, my share was not exactly homemade—JUNK FOOD). Anyway, to cut things short, we got stuck in a quaint café instead until lunch time.
Since our brains were telling us to have lunch even when we were not really in the mood for a heavy lunch because we had cake and munched on the packed meals our friends prepared, we still went out and explored Technohub and there we saw this new-looking store named Hawaii’s North Shore.
The restaurant offered burgers, fries, and other comfort food such as fish and chips and chicken wings.
Since I was full, I ordered Spam Musubi (PHP60) that looked like Spam sushi, Phat Fries (PHP60), and large Pineapple Iced Tea (PHP70) for that Hawaiian feel. Yes, I was not hungry... really.
When my order arrived, I was surprised that the Spam Musubi was just… one. I saw a display of it with two Spam Musubis so I assumed that I will be getting two. Oh well.

It was caramelized Spam on sticky rice. (I think I do not need to share more details about this since it was just sweet Spam.) A bit hard to eat though since it was rather big for one big bite but too messy if you cut it into pieces.
The Phat Fries was your typical greasy yet oh-so-good fries. It was served hot though wasn’t very crispy.
As for the Pineapple Iced Tea… well, I think I will eventually get used to it. I didn’t really like it since my mind was telling me that something was wrong. (Brain: Hey, this does not taste like lemon! Where’s the lemony taste?!? I want the lemony taste!!!)
What I loved about the restaurant was that it was full of surprises... sweet and just plain surprising...
