July was a stressful month for me. I had to learn new things for work and keep up with having new content for my blog. I'd often find myself sleeping so late just so I could have everything done. Now that I'm starting to get the hang of it, there's no better way to reward myself than with good food at Nono's.
Hello, Nono's.
I used to think that Nono's is just a place for desserts knowing that the person behind this dainty shop is the wonderful Baba Ibazeta-Benedicto of Classic Confections. But I was totally wrong when I got a bite of Nono's Fried Truffle Cheese Wontons. Crunchy and packed with umami, this amazing starter made me smile from ear to ear! And I couldn't help myself from wanting more. My sister also had a Cooking Master Boy moment with Nono's when she had its cheesy Mac N Cheese.

First Bite: Ça Va Crêperie & Floral Atelier
A quaint café caught my attention while strolling around Podium. Adorned with flowers and everything dainty, I convinced my friends that we check it out after our heavy afternoon snack.
Hello, Ça Va Crêperie & Floral Atelier.
It would be hard to miss Ça Va (pronounced sah-vah, French for "how are you doing?") with its prime spot at the Julia Vargas entrance of Podium Mall. Its warm ambiance and feminine vibe was like a strong magnet that lured us into its store.

First Bite: Pastry Armoire x The Wander Space
Ensaymada has been a staple merienda dish in the Filipino food scene. The fluffy bread topped with generous serving of butter and sugar on top can be bought in local bakeries and chains like Goldilocks and Red Ribbon. The growth of the market with discerning taste gave room to premium ensaymada offering more than your usual buttered pastry. We have the famous ensaymada of Pampanga hitting food bazaars like Yummy Eats and Ultimate Taste Test and we also have the like of Pastry Armoire. And I was lucky to be one of the guests of the later to its food tasting at the Instagram heaven, The Wander Space.
Hello, Pastry Armoire x The Wander Space.
I was carrying several shoot items with me to the event and I gulped with cold sweat dripping down my temples when I saw The Wander Space on the third floor of a building along Maginhawa. With the elevator out of order, I took three flights up to get to the beautiful shop + coffee shop. And I was warmly greeted by Raymond of Pastry Armoire and Kim of The Wander Space.

Love at First Bite: ArroZeria Manila
I absolutely love that I’m surrounded by
people who love to eat. My Instagram feed never fails to make me hungry. It
also gives me ideas on where to eat next. And a few weeks back, someone posted
a photo of paella. Soon, I found myself researching about the restaurant that
serves that paella and after a few minutes, I listed it down on my “must visit”
list. And since it’s my birthday next week, I figured that this is the place to
go to treat some of my favorite people.
Hello, ArroZeria Manila!
This new
Spanish restaurant has been gaining followers since it opened. Located at
Century City Mall’s 4th floor, this place has a homey vibe.
And
ArroZeria is quite artsy too with the ladders on the ceiling and adorable door
handle!
We decided
to go for the following dishes: Tatin De
Tomate (PHP395), Jargo Asado (PHP495),
Panceta Y Trigueros Risotto
(PHP450) and the Paella of the Day, Del
Señorito (PHP275). [One thing you have to be mindful of when ordering Paella,
Caldoso, Meloso and Fideua is
that there’s a minimum order of two.
The prices in the menu are on a per person basis, which we find quite odd.]

| Complimentary appetizer! |
The first
dish to arrive was our salad.
I must say,
the presentation was quite different. The lettuce
was on top of the baked parmesan
and the mozzarella
balls and cherry tomatoes on spinach pesto were at the bottom. However, the
taste wasn’t as impressive. It was too bland for me and for the price of almost
PHP400, it was a bit expensive given its serving size.

My First Bite: Stacy's
Cute restaurants attract me like an insect being lured by the light. Okay, perhaps that wasn't the best way to describe it but you get my point. Such was the case ever since I saw several blogs featuring the quaint restaurant called Stacy's.
I have been wanting to visit Stacy's for the longest time but Quezon City is a bit too far from me and the possibility of me getting lost is almost 100%. But thankfully, Stacy's opened another branch, this time at The Fort (which is very near my place!).
After seeing the announcement of their second branch, I immediately tagged my friends asked them if they want to have lunch there sometime... soon. And they agreed! Hurray!!!
We decided to have K's birthday lunch there and that means free lunch! Thanks, K!
