[Activity Alert] The Zombie Room: Breakout @ Trinoma
I get super excited when I get to do or see
something different. This is the reason why I was so hyper when I discovered Mystery Manila. I got so hooked after trying (to solve) Justice for Jamilla. I wanted more. I felt like I was possessed
by Detective Conan. I just want to keep on solving mysteries! But it was hard
to pull people to join me with my “quest” for justice and answers. (Okay, I have to calm down now.) It has been four months
since my last staged adventure. I am not sure if it was fate or what but I saw something that made me
so excited again.
Breakout Manila @ Trinoma!!!
I’m a big
fan of the series, The Walking Dead
and I sometimes imagine what I’ll do when a zombie apocalypse happens. Yes, you
read my mind… I will get all the food I could get. Hunger scares me more than
zombies. Okay, going back to the activity…
Breakout
Manila, the other Saw-like company that made people so frustrated to escape the
rooms they designed, is determined to make hearts go wild again this February 20 to March 22, 2015.
If you
happen to hang out a lot in Trinoma, you might want to keep the blood pumping
by being Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Maggie, Michonne, or Carol for 30 minutes.
The story is
as follows:
It’s dark. You’ve been popping in and out of
consciousness not knowing where you are… Then you discovered you are in a cage.
At least you’re alive… for now. [Then] You
hear a growl. A sound you only hear in nightmares. You discover a zombie across
the room.
You and your friends have 30 minutes to
escape from not only the room but the flesh eating zombies as well. Can you
breakout or will you become zombie bait?
Exciting
right? This is one interesting activity to do with family, friends or your
special someone!
Check www.breakout.com.ph
for details on how to secure slots. [Note, there’s an extra PHP50 for online
transactions.]
See you
there!

Mystery Solved: Rebecca's Room
I get so excited every
time I meet someone game to try Mystery Manila. My first experience was fun and I didn’t mind
being a third wheel at all. The second time around wasn’t as fun though when we
tried Sinister Sensorium as I was one of the blind players. (The blind don’t
get to do much and I didn’t even know that the game was over!) But things were
about to change when we tried Rebecca’s
Room.
I just could not contain my excitement when I read the reviews
about Rebecca’s Room. It is like being in a horror movie. (Exciting!!!)
I realized though that the mystery was not a joke when “Sherlock”,
our game master asked if any of us have heart problems. (Then again, I thought that
he was just trying to scare us.)
So we did the drill… read an article to have a background of
the mystery and be briefed on what to do inside.
When we got inside, several furniture pieces were covered in
white cloth. I had fun making a mess until… WHAT THE ****!!! (I won’t tell you what I saw!)
A few minutes later,
the lights were turned off so we relied on the flashlight that I found and the
cellphone R discovered.

NEWS FLASH: Mystery Manila opens this May 2014!
I love
mystery movies and just about anything that would push me to think as it makes
me feel more productive even when in reality, I just munching on popcorn. I
remember my Detective Conan and Psych addiction days where all I do was
speculate. I even got hooked to playing Clues! So just imagine how happy I was
when I discovered…
If I am not mistaken, this is the first of its
kind here in Manila. It’s like one of those Murder-Mystery dinners in the US where you try to find the murderer
amongst the guests.
One room.
One
mystery.
One hour.
One way
out.
Intriguing right? Right? Riiiiiiight?! Okay, I
think I’m too hyper to blog in a calm manner. But if you are into these things,
you’d understand why this makes me very giddy.
The fascinating part is that you will be locked
inside a room to solve the mystery. (Think Saw
the movie.) There will be clues, riddles and evidences all over the room of the
mystery you chose. You will be stuck inside the room till you solve the mystery
(or when you run out of time).
The objective to this game is to of course solve
the mystery the fastest way possible as you get a prize after closing the case.
The quicker you solve the mystery, the nicer the prizes you will get. You have
to solve the mystery in under an hour to succeed. But you also have an option
to try again at a discounted rate in case you didn’t finish in 60 minutes but
this is of course subject to the availability of the room. To date, there are
no published rates for this.
