First Bite: Banh Mi Kitchen

I have been eying Banh Mi Kitchen for a while now but it being in SM Megamall discourages me from trying it out. Just thinking about the horrific parking mayhem and the insane crowd make me cringe. So when I found out that they opened a kiosk in BGC Stopover, I jumped and twirled with glee!

Hello, Banh Mi Kitchen
It is hard to miss this wooden kiosk located at BGC Stopover ground floor near Jollibee and Bono Gelato. The warm hues and friendly staff sure lured us just like those Poke Stops.
R and I got some gift certificates (for one regular banh mi and drink) from Foodgrammer.ph and I decided to use mine right away. I went with Wagyu Tapa banh mi (PHP189 | PHP129) and Iced Milk Tea (PHP60).

Love at First Bite: Hobing Korean Dessert Café

It’s the time to sweat bullets and feel so icky after walking a couple of blocks. It is also the time to have that insatiable desire for anything cold. Oh yes, summer is here. As a person who is not exactly fond of summer, the only thing I look forward to this season is having a convenient reason to have a cold treat or two on a daily basis. And yes, one of the rewards I look forward to is bingsu. Finely shaved milk ice topped with delectable fruits and other sweets… what’s not to love? The best part? More and more players are popping here and there giving us foodies a wider variety of toppings.  One of the new players in the market is Hobing.
Hello, Hobing!

After a filling dinner at Melo’s, R and I decided to walk towards BGC Stopover to visit this new bingsu place for dessert.
The place was packed when we got there around 8:30 p.m. With only one empty table available, we hurriedly ordereStrawberry Bingsu (PHP215, small | PHP330, large) with ice cream as topping instead of whipped cream at no additional cost. (We feel that ice cream is more value for money than whipped cream.)
Our bingsu arrived after 20 minutes. Quite a long wait but understandable given the crowd and we were still full from our steak dinner.

First Bite: Genki Sushi

Ever since I heard about how fun it is to order food at Genki Sushi, the foodie in me wants to jump, giddily hop, and moonwalk to the popular Japanese restaurant in BGC Stopover. But every time I plan to visit, something happens. *pouts* This is why when R surprised me with a visit and asked me if I want to have dinner at Genki Sushi, I uttered a big YES with a big smile to match.
Hello, Genki Sushi!!!

I have been waiting to dine here for months! And finally, I could press those buttons and a train or race car will come my way with some delectable Japanese dishes.
Despite being so sore from insanity workout (yes, I just have to say it to make me look less of a glutton), I happily micro hopped to Genki Sushi. Thankfully, the place was not packed and we managed to get a table with ease.
Before going crazy over the high tech way of ordering, the server gave us a short intro on how to order and that we could enjoy unlimited supply of matcha with our meals.
As soon as the server left, R and I began to stare at the menu plastered on the “food tunnel.” We drooled over Salmon Belly (PHP80), Lobster Salad (PHP120), Lobster Salad Roll (PHP150), Unadon (PHP350) and Chirashi Don (PHP420).
*choo choo*
The train arrived first with Salmon Belly, Lobster Salad and Unadon.
Given the friendly prices for sushi, I was not really expecting great sushi from this place. But I was pleasantly surprised that the salmon sushi was decent. In fact, it was good. The color was nice and it was fresh. Yay! Great deal for PHP80!
The lobster salad which was topped with crunchy flakes and sweet sauce was pretty heavy. I didn't get a hint of lobster though due to its tiny serving per roll.
