This time around, I went with two of my college friends and we ordered Pho Bo (PHP260), Pho Ga (PHP230), Cha Gio (PHP195), Cha Thia Xao Dao Hao (PHP115), Ca Kho To (PHP250), and a glass of iced Vietnamese coffee (PHP110).
Service was very quick. First served was my coffee on a dripper. It reminded me of Highland’s coffee.
Next served was the two bowls of Pho. We had to return the
toppings plate though as one of the limes has a worm on it. Well at least they
serve organic food.
The pho were served warm and were really delightful.
Slurping the clear soup and munching on the noodles sure calmed our rallying
tummies. (And yes, I skipped using the lime.) My Pho Ga (chicken noodle soup) tasted really good as is that I do not need anything else for extra flavoring. I just added a bit of bean sprouts for extra texture.
The Cha Gio (crispy spring rolls) was pretty good as well. The shape wasn’t as fat as how other restaurants serve it. Every bite was savory and not very oily as well.
The Cai Thia Xao Dao Hao (or simply sautéed bok choy in oyster sauce) was crunchy and undeniably fresh. I enjoyed it a lot. I think I grabbed most of the garlic.
It’s another story though for the Ca Kho To (deep fried catfish in caramel sauce). I find it overly savory. As a person who prefers less flavorful dishes, the taste of this dish was too strong for my palate. It had a bit too much fish bones too which I dislike.
